RibFest: October 9
The Exchange Club will be having a RibFest on October 9 at the Hut (206 West Indian) from 4 – 7 p.m. The meal includes a portion of ribs, slaw, beans, bread, tea and dessert. Tickets are $12 each and can be purchased at Rose Hardware or at the door
Hosting the Haunted House
Exchange Club will be hosting a Halloween Haunted House catering to children. The event will take place at the Hut (206 West Indian) and be held on October 22, 23 and 29 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets are $5 per family and can be purchased at the door, from an Exchange Club member or at Rose Hardware. Concessions will be sold on site. Those interested in volunteering should contact Robert Lucas at 991-4441.
Public Service officers recognized
Congratulations to the 2010 Public Safety Officer and Firefighter of the Year for Folly Beach! Michael Jackson was named Public Safety Officer of the Year and Jared Renshaw is the Firefighter of the Year. Jackson is one of two officers who have completed the Charleston County Fire Academy. He has also undertaken investigative training and was praised for his organizing efforts on the beach. Renshaw is an eleven year veteran who has worked for both James Island and Folly Beach as a firefighter. He has distinguished himself by his experience with on-water incidents and the recent fire on Sandbar Lane.
