SUP-er Scary SUP Race returns Oct. 28

Charleston SUP Safaris and Flipper Finders are teaming up for a scary good time and a scary good cause from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28 for the seventh annual SUPer Scary SUP Race in the Folly River.
There is absolutely no experience needed to be a part of this family-friendly event, just the excitement to go paddle. Even your furry friend can come along. There will also be a silent auction featuring SUP gear, Getaways on Folly Beach, massages, beach cruiser, restaurant gift certificates, and more. Additionally, there will be a $1 raffle, with lots of great giveaways. There will also be free food.
This charity SUP Race benefits Youth to Ocean (Y2O), a local non-profit that provide positive youth development through opportunities in water sports, environmental education, and exploration of nature, especially for underserved and at-risk youth. For more information, visit www.y2o.org.
Entry Fee is $50 for Elite & Recreation Divisions and includes a T shirt. $25 for Kids* (12 & under) and Dog SUP. SUP boards will be available for rent for $10 on the day of the race, courtesy of SUP Safaris. Pre-Registration is held from 8- 8:45 a.m. at 83 Center St. Race Times are as follows: Expert 9 a.m.; Novice 9:05 a.m.; Kids Race 11 a.m., and Dog Race 11:30 a.m. An awards ceremony will follow.
