Tending The Flock
Hello Friends, Here it is March already and there’s so much to get done before it really warms up. Don’t let it overwhelm you though. Rather than panic about all your upcoming obligations, (socially or at work,) try, “Tending the flock.” By this I mean slowly but steadily chip away at your goals day by day, (the Flock being your goals and projects, stay with me.) Let’s use a landscape as our example.
Conduct an audit/inspection of said area. Separate your notes into: “To Do,” and “Materials.” Start from the street and pick out the things you can see from the road. Do trees need trimming to allow light to lawn areas or to reduce storm damage? Write it down if so. If there is a lawn, what needs to happen in what order to bring it into the warm season? “I see some plants that don’t look happy, do they need stuff? Walk around and touch stuff. Pull 10 minutes of weeds. Take 10 minutes to make sure your equipment is up to par, no need getting psyched up to tackle the yard this Spring only to find everything is broken. If it is broken dispose of it properly or repair it. Spend a little time every day without wearing yourself out. It’ll be good for you. This goes for just about anything in life. Want to be physically fit but don’t have the time or energy for major workouts? Do a set of push ups here and there. Stretch and do light exercises at random times throughout the day. Your body is your “Flock,” so tend to it. Find yourself time to meditate and work on your Mental health, (currently harder than the physical for me.) Our work and business is our “Flock,” Tend to it. And children are most certainly your “Flock.”
Just like the watchful shepherd, keeping a watchful eye and make a little adjustment here and there through each and every day.
Enjoy Your March and be good to each other!
